One of the best moments.....EVER!!!!!!!!

You know when it happened! You know where you were. You will always remember. One of the greatest moments of my life. Where were you when it happened? You know what I am talking about. Da goal!!! Sidney!!... Gold Medal game, in OT!!.... what a moment, that Sunday afternoon, Feb 28…. Just after 4 pm local time, 7 minutes into OT….. the goal… the shouting…the jubilation… the tears….. and I watched it alone in my condo…hahaahah….. nevertheless, the weight of the country was lifted and the celebration of the nation began…. Don’t get me wrong, our country breaking the gold medal record of 13, with our 14th gold, was remarkable….. from our first gold ever on home soil by Alexandre Bilodeau… to Jon Montgomery walking down the street, and accepting a jug of beer and drinking it…. Kevin Martin’s big grin at the closing ceremonies…the team of Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue in Ice dancing…... And what about the girls???.... remarkable showing!!! Better than the boys…. Christine Nesbitt in the 1000m long Track.. Ashleigh McIvor in ski cross… Maelle Ricker is Snowboard cross…Woman’s hockey team… even the non-Gold Medal winners… the cutie Jenn Heil in Moguls, Marianne St Gelais short track 500m, the inspiration of Joannie Rochette in figure skating…

But lets not kid ourselves…. Don’t matter how many gold, or even any medals, we won, it would have meant nothing if the guy’s hockey team did not win gold!!!. What a 12 day stretch.....first game 8-0 win over Norway…. 3-2 shootout win over Switz…. The devastating 5-3 loss to the Americans, and finishing in 7th…winning 8-2 over Germany in the qualifier..Quarters 7-3 shellacking of the high powered Russians… the 3-2 squeaker over the Slovaks in the semis, and the ot winner in the Gold medal game over the USA….. from Luongo taking over for Brodeur after the USA loss and running with it….. to Toews being the team MVP…. To the rise of Keith and Doughty… to the winning goal from Mr Canada now, Crosby!!!.... Yes, Deb experienced true anger from me when we lost to the States… the yell… the wall punching… first time she prob was scared of me… from than on, she left when Canada played, going to her dad’s or watching a movie… she did come back for the third period of the goal medal game, but even she was nervous for the game…. But when the US scored with over 20 sec remaining to send it to OT, she left for her dad’s to start Connor’s bday get together…. But the total pandemonium, relief and exhilaration when we scored…… memorable!!!!

Ok, enough on that…hahaha.. the last month??..... hmmm… Happy bday to Laney and Connor on Feb 28th, Nerissa on March 2nd, Lomes on the fifth…we watched Valentine’s Day on the 6th… it’s what I expected, cute and fun movie…. Sojust relaxing, no thinking required…. Plus Alba??...enuf said!!! Da following weekend, finally convinced (dragged) Deb to watch Avatar…. We had to find a theatre that still played it in 3D… thus, Chinook Mall… man, that place is crazy…20 mins to find parking…. Hot and stuffy, waiting in line to buy tickets, to a pack theatre for a movie that has been out for three months… however, the movie was awesome….the computer tech was spectacular, the scenes were beautiful, setting and background were great…. Storyline was weak, but you don’t go for that….. awesome movie!!

Finally got to see Mare on the 27th… went to Chopsticks since there was lineups everywhere… went for a quick drink with the Trade Desk for St Patty Day… saw Cammer for lunch….

That’s about it….. now, what is happening next??....possibly….Mexico???
