Week update.. oh well..old friends...

Yes, its been a whole week since I updated this... guess I am getting lazy...hahahah.. well, lets see what I have been up to... Friday, I brought my car in to have the SRS light finally looked at.... man, dealing with the dealership can be a pain...no, it is a pain!!!. I brought my car in at 7:30am.... i called at 12:30pm and at 1:30pm for updates on it..... they stated they would let me know what the problem was.... well, suffice to say, I never recd a call til 2:30pm.... apparently, the light was caused by some old use of coding or something, and they just fixed it.... if the light comes again, I would have to replace the whole system which will cost over $300 bucks or somethng...WHATEVER!!! Mechanics suck, dealerships suck, it just sucks period.....

Off of that spew. Friday night, I was to head to Ric's Grill after work with the RBC gang, but I had issues with the car so I ended up at home.... after that, I went to play poker at Hubie's house.... they decided to play a different version where you buy in $20 whenever you are out of cash, and chips were par to the money you put in, and non-blind players would ante 50 cents. Suffice to say after an hour and half, I was down $85 after five buy ins... I was more than happy to get the call from King to pick me up for hockey.... I didnt win a hand and didnt like the style of the game.... I wish I had drove, cause I would have been gone sooner.... oh well... Hockey sucked on both Fri and Sat nights since I got stuck playing D for most of the game... oh well...

Sat night, Won and I took Mare out for her bday supper.... we headed out to Sakana for sushi, as usual... let me just say, Mare, your still the hottest Mary I know!!!...period!!...howz that???...hahaha.. maybe we will hook up Sat for Dim Sum with "your crowd"....Happy birthday again!

Sunday, got a chance to catch up with an old friend....Slick Rick, your still the same old loser you have always been...Too bad you didnt live in Calgary.... I would school you in softball and hockey.... you would see what a real athlete looked like.... Nevertheless, it was good to hear from you again...glad you are doing well, and I hope your wife and your new store, is a huge success...Cant believe how times flies and how big your kid has gotten... it just seemed like the other day that you had your kid... maybe one day, I will be brave enough and come out to Winnipeg...

Finally, a shout out to some old friends who contacted me this past week... good to hear from all THREE of you... you know who you are.... J, M, and L......

weekend...and trailer for 24

Lets get it out of the way... the best drama on tv, season premiere for season 6 on January 14, 2007...... 24!!!!! Sneak peek at the trailer.... http://www.24trailer.com/

Friday night, I went out after work to Brewsters and hung out with Shan, Jeff, Annie, Manio, some Asian dude. C-Thom and Jamie got stuck at another table, as Susan from projects was having her thing at the same time. Oh well. I got to hear some gossip about the crowd that the other four pple deal with, so I just basically listened. After that, I headed to Bottoms Up to watch the end of the game with Easy E and Princess. Hockey kind of sucked since Mark cancelled at the last hour, leaving us with only one goalie. The dreaded shooter tutor....yuck!!

Saturday, I headed over to Harv's place to watch hockey on his dish and to visit his little gal. While there, I got a chance to catch up a bit with Terry, who I had not seen or spoke with for almost 5 -6 years??? Time has passed, but some things never change.

Also, a shout out again to Mare, as it was her bday on Monday..... Happy Birthday gal!!!... still young as ever!!!

Flat Tire...& . MARE!!!!

Yes, I got a stupid flat tire on Tuesday at work. Luckily, I went to check my car at 2:30pm to see if I was chalked. I was going to leave it, but decided to check on the car. When I arrived, I noticed my car had a flat on the back left. I called my bro and was planning to either change it myself, or change it with my bro. When I got back to the office, my co-workers insisted I called road side assistance to change it. If I have it, why not use it? Plus, its free, and the service came with the purchase of the new car. It made sense. So, it took them 45 minutes to arrive and change my flat in record time. After that, I took it into the auto dealership in Crowfoot. I already had an issue with them on the other car with the SRS light being on. Somehow, they weaseled an excuse for that little situation. Whatever !! I figure if I am dealing with them for my new car and the free oil changes, that I didnt want to have to make it awkward every time going there. So, I didnt make a big issue about it. So I booked a 7:30am appointment next Friday for the SRS light, while I waited about an hour for them to fix my flat tire and put it back on the car. Guess I had a nail stuck into the tire. I hate mechanics.. like I really do hate them. They are always screwing you somehow. Do you know what I mean? Not much I can do about it, unless I find a friend or a friend's friend who is a mechanic. It's one of those professions that you have to know someone in to help you in life, not to be screwed by them. Just like a good lawyer, doctor, and dentist.

Just want to give a shout out to Mare.... this is the first day and first time you have ever been ahead of me in the hockey pool. You must be so ectatic. Lets see how long and how often it will last. Your bday is this weekend. Dont worry about me, I understand that you have to "ditch me" for your other friend's, even though I asked you out first for your bday.....hahahah.. only kiddin, we will hook up next week.... til than, game on in the hockey pool!!!

Three parties in one night....

How to handle three parties in one night? That was my dilemna on Sat night. Not a bad dilemna, but fun to try to handle. What I had was bday suppers for James at 6:30 @ Keg downtown, 6:30 supper at the chinese Rest in Edgemont by Superstore for Kim's bday, and the wedding get together for Roy and Pauline @ Cactus Jack @ 9:30pm. So here is what I did.

I started by going to the Keg at 6:30pm. Bought James a bottle of red wine. Got to mingle with Faderman, Bonnie, House, Tammie, Brooksie, Duffman, Tash, Ezandra, Lise, and Sean. I stayed for a quick drink, and basically caught up with Brooksie and Duffman. After about 45 minutes, I jetted all the way from downtown back to Edgemont for Kimmie's bday supper.

Got to her bday at about 7:40pm. There, I just missed my bro who was off to the second of his four parties. There, they were already eating, and was nice enough to save me a plate full of stuff. There, I mingled with Lee, Dak, Tracy, and Bao. Supper was great, and we had some real good laughs. After a little "discussion", Mark paid for the whole supper and would not let us pay our share. Thanks anyways Markie, as usual !! After that, they convinced me to go watch THE DEPARTED. We were all to meet at the movie theatre. Suffice to say that I went to the wrong theatre. Thankfully, I didnt buy a ticket yet before I called to confirm their whereabouts. They were at Silver City's while I was at the Crowfoot theatre. I made it to the movie, but missed the first five minutes or so (hate being late for a movie). Mark was nice enough to give me his free ticket that he said they gave him. I tried an old trick by paying Bao $10 to give Kim and Mark when we left the theatre, but it didnt work. He was to give it to them after I got into my car and droved away. Nope, he gave it to them right away. Oh well, Thanks again for the movie. The movie was absolutely great. I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more if I didnt see the chinese version (Internal Affairs). It followed the original pretty closely. I still like the original better.

Finally, at abot 12:30am, I arrived at Cactus Jack, hoping the guys were still there. They were there, but the doors were locked since they closed at midnight. After pounding on the windows for a minute, the waitress let me in. They were all in the process of leaving. They decided to head to the Mercury, so I drove Roy, Pauline, Troy and Seana down there. Mercury is a real nice place. Lots of cute girls. Jules ( my lesbian teammate) and I just sat down and checked out all the girls. Its funny to be doing that with the girl of the opposite sex. After closing, we headed to the old HUSKY HOUSE for some food. It was busy and packed. After not getting any service and hearing that the meals wouldnt be arriving for about 40minutes, we decided to head home. Instead of letting my teammates waste their money on cabs, I drove Cor and Lori home by Old Banff Road area (17 minutes), than drove Roy and Pauline home in Country Hills area (30minutes), and back home(30 minutes). I was home by 4:30am and in bed by 5:15am. So tired.

So, that is how I handle three parties in one night. Tired.......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Friday...Day off

I decided to take Friday off to do a bunch of errands. I took the 01 Civic in to the dealership for some maintenance. The guy stated that if there was any issues, he would call me. I recd a call around 11am to tell me that the car was ready. When I picked it up, I noticed the SRS light was still on. Pretending not to know what that was, I asked the guy if this was an issue. He asked if I had mentioned it when I brought it in. I told him no, and he stated that it should prob be looked at, and that they could have done it earlier if they were aware of it, but had no time now since it was the end of the day. He told me if it was still on over the weekend, to call him and schedule something. It will cost roughly $60. So, on Sat, I decided to look at the paperwork and noticed that the mechanic wrote down on the sheet that the SRS light was on. But I thought they were unaware of it?? Damn mechanics... do all of you hate mechanice like I do? Wait til I talk to them on Monday after work. Not to yell, but to see how they try to weasel out of this poor service level.
On another note, I got to hit three banks, the mall for a gift cert, and the liquor store to buy three wine bottles. Unfortunately, I left the wine bottle in the trunk, and as I was driving, one of the bottles smashed apart. So, my NEW car smells like red wine. My bro tried cleaning it today, so I will see how it is tomorrow. I am such an idiot! Oh yeah, thanks to the three girls in transfers, aka Ap, Wingnut, and La Senza, for keeping me up with all the text messages and for "forcing" me to bring them Greek food for lunch!!!!... I could have slept in. Yes, I "could" have turned my cell off, but what if I miss an important call???...hahah
That night, Princess, Easy E, and I headed to Bottoms Up for drinks and the game. Hockey was tough cause I couldn't seem to catch my breath after each shift. I couldn't go all out. I wasnt sure if it was the alcohol, the greasy appetizers I ate, or the cold that I was getting (sore throat). I will blame all my problems on Princess today. Oh well. That was my day off!

Bottoms Up!!

Tuesday.... another work week begins after a long weekend. Unfortunately, half the transfer dept was missing today, so we were kept busy. I gave MacT her Oiler's shirt to give to Tash. She asked for the price, but I wouldnt accept anything from her. She has done enough for me, that I think its time I gave something back. She was the one who always invited me over for drinks, and also the one who brought me over to RBC. Without that link, I would not have met some of the pple I know today. That is priceless. We all have someone that we feel we are in debt too, the one who has helped you out in some shape or form. She is one of many for me. Also, to my buddy, CONGRATS!! You deserve it buddy!!! Patience was the key.
Princess and I also headed to BOTTOMS UP to start our hockey season of watchng the Canucks. Unfortunately, they lost 2-1 in a shootout. Next time!!

Gobble Gobble....turkey time!!

Two nights, two turkey suppers, two nights of full stomachs. Thanksgiving is upon us, and I feel like a bloated balloon. Friday night, I went to King's church for their annual turkey pot luck, Thanksgiving service. I wasnt feeling that well that night, as I had a Wendy's burger for lunch. Fast food always makes my stomach queasy. Cor and I met up with Char for lunch. Girl, its been forever since I have see you. You are still looking fine as ever. You are too easy to pick on, and Cor and I always have fun when your around. You should really think about coming to ATB. Congrats anyways on your promotion!! For Princess, that "gift" that you bought yourself, well, you know. I know it called your name and it looks good. To me its expensive, but if your bf is fine with it, and your happy, than its fine with me. Funny that prior to church, we ran into Mare while looking for a parking spot. It was funny that we saw you on the corner, and Won told you to get into the car. It felt like we were pickng up a "girl on the corner"...hahaha.. It was funny.
Thanks again goes out to Kim and Mark for having us over for Thanksgiving supper. I apologize for leaving early since I had hockey. Supper was fabulous as usual. It was good to see Lee, Trace, Dak, Jana, her bf ( first time metting), Phil, his gf ( first time meeting), and your sis. Fun time for all. What is my thanks for the year? Family first most, good friends, great meal, and the great run by the Oilers. We believe! Oh yeah, my ebay gifts arrived Friday, following the one that arrived on Tuesday. Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Meeting the FA's and a shout out to a friend.

What a night! Its 1:35am now, and I just got home, shortly after 1AM. I got invited out by one of our reps, as there is a big conference for the reps of ATB in Calgary for the next few days. Rycroft invited me out, so I joined them around 8pm. At some place across the Glenbow museum, I finally meet Jason. We decided to go out for steaks, and he says he is buying supper and drinks. Before leaving, I got to meet Jen M, another rep from Medicine hat??(cant remember right now), Dave C, Chris S, Mark D, and my rep, Bill S. From there, Chris, Scott, Jason and I head to Saltliks for supper. I had a nice New York Steak and some drinks. From there, we were joined by a bunch of others after dinner including Vicky, Lori C, Colleen M, Mark D, Julie, another rep from Rocky Mt, and like 20 others. Once we moved downstairs, I left with Jason, Scott, Vicky and Chris, and we head to the Milestone, back to the hotel, Joyce Pub, and Fuel. From there, we head back to Saltlicks to meet up with everyone else. Here, I meet, amongst others, Chris T, Kevin D, Paula B, Bruce Anderson, some rep form Drumheller, Scott M, amd Gord M. Thru it all, I had about eight drinks, 6 ryes and two shots. Thanks to Jason for supper and my 5 drinks, Chris T for one, Chris S for another, and one from Paula B. It was nice to meet you all. So many ppl. I prob should not have driven home, but I made it safely. Til we meet again, it was a pleasure.

Finally, to my friend who told me Monday about their breakup last Thursday, keep your head up and stay positive. I know what your going thru. It does get better. Your special person is out there, be patient. In times of these, you turn to your true friends and your family. If ya ever need an ear or a shoulder, I am here, and you know how to reach me! Best to ya, and I am thinking and praying for you....

My first haircut...

Yes, that is what I did. I gave myself my first haircut. I took the razor, with the 1/2" clip, and buzzed away. I must say, it is a lot harder than one can imagine. The back is so much harder and frustrating. Its hard to reach in the back of the head. Won said it looked fine, but I think he was just trying to be nice. There are parts of the back of the head near the neck that I want to shave off with a regular razor. Unfortunately, I cant see back there very well. The test is to see what my co-workers think. They are pretty blunt about things, so I will know how well I did soon. Maybe I can get Mater to help trim and shave a bit of the back area for me, if needed. I guess we will see. I think next time, I will think twice about doing it myself, and maybe just let my hair stylist do it. If I am lucky enough, maybe some girl will do it for free for me...heehheheh... we will see.

Congrats to Cammer!!!

Its been a week since I have updated this. Man, getting lazy. Ok. What is new? Well, I got free batch of cookies from an FA. That is the second time she made me cookies. She made cookies for Bevan, Nat, Sandy, trade desk, and myself. She also baked three cake pans for the rest of the office. She such a good baker. I am going to have to repay her in the future, maybe buying her a drink whenever our paths cross in a drinking setting. I owe you Koreann.

Survivor this week, Cecilla got voted off. That means Mater is out. Expect a nice write up on you gal! I am sure I can find material on you. The two week ethnic group experiment ended as the survivors were merged into two tribes. Now, its your usual survivor.

Friday, I went out for drinks and supper with princess and Easy E to Ric's Grill. I had to use my $15 gift cert that I got for my bday, as it was to expire at month end. Princess, doesnt matter how much you try to knock me down with your insults and put downs, I will still get back up. Cause YOU SUCK, and that is all there is to it. Keep trying!!! After supper, Easy E realized she left her keys in her car. So, I drove her home to get her spare set, but her roomate wasnt home. We ended up calling AMA. It wasnt too bad, as they arrived within 20 minutes or so. After that, I headed to my live hockey draft online, for the 9:45pm draft. My team looked ok, except for Stillman, who I learned after that fact that he was gone for 4 months. Same as Berard. Dont know his story, except he hasnt played any pre-season games yet, and has back issues. Played hockey at midnight, and the ankle was little sore, but it didnt affect my play.

Saturday, my bro and I arrived 10 minutes late to Cam and Kristin's ceremony, but we managed to creep in right as the bride was ready to come down the aisle. We ended up sitting on the wrong side, but it was fine. The ceremony prob lasted a half hour or so. It was very nice. Once again, we arrived to supper 15 minutes late, but we never missed anything. I believe we were served moose meat with shrimp, potatoes, carrots , and asparagus. Very good food. Apple pie was the dessert and we had some kind of tomato soup. I sat at the M.C.'s table so all I had to do was turn around, and I was right in front of the podium. I got to see everything. We sat with Cory and Lori, and 4 others I didnt know. The speeches were funny and entertaining. I also founded funny that during the couple's first song, the song kept getting interrruped in the middle of the song. Poor DJ, how embarassing. He tried it again, and it was fine. We left at about 9:45pm (7:00pm start). We were lucky enough to have each guest given a bottle of homemade wine, made by Cam's bro. So I grabbed a white bottle. It feels weird not having a dated, but I am sure Cam appreciated it since he wanted to keep the guest lit to about 110. He invited about 140. I think there was prob about 110 there. He told me he preferred if I went stag, so I obliged. Congrats, Cam and Kristin!!!!
