Visitors from Abroad....

Previous weekend, we were fortunate enough to have Heather stay with us for the weekend.... Sat, we all watched Harry Potter THBP with my bros, and than had some nice BBQ steaks for supper... absolutely big, thick, and tasty!!!... lots of leftovers....hahahah..... Sunday, we headed over to Kathy's for some nice BBQ fresh salmon, which was for Deb and mine bday... earlier, I finally met up with Peter for Dim Sum after a year of not seeing him... hope your wedding goes smoothly in Hawaii in April 2010......

Trying to catch up with everyone.... did lunch with Kim 2 for the first time ever on 17th ... it was a very good first get together, as we did lunch at Oriental Phoenix.... Also did Viet with A-Ho on the 21st, sushi with da boys on the 22nd, Dim Sum with Kat and Jim on 26th, and lunch with Laney at da Crush on da 29th....

Last Thurs, finally got a chance to see Anton after, errrrr, 5yrs???... he had a layover here for 4 hours, so Deb and the fam met up with him for supper at Moxies.... its so good to see you again, and your looking fit and well..... too bad the stay wasn't longer......

This past weekend, the day finally arrived for the surprise retirement/65th bday party for Deb's dad.... there was about 60 pple there, and although he acted surprise, I am sure he knew something was up.... nevertheless, the event turned out great, lots of pple, food and friends..... personally, I got to see AC again and chatted with Jamow.....

Softball, we went one and won this week, losing to the Tigers 12-8 and beating the Hammers 21-6, on da strength of 4 home runs, solos from Brian and Dwight (1st of yr), and 3 run homers from Brett and Chris (1st also)..... first game, I went 1-3 with a walk, and second game 3-5..... feel bad for pat who popped his knee in the first game while batting...scary sight.... hope he gets better, and ready for next season.... this was our last game with Chris and Gavin,a s both are pretty much gone for Aug on holidays..... call in da subs!!! Last week, we also went one and one, losing out to the Mullets by 20 runs, while squeaking another win over the lowly Pirates again..... we need some offense, and consistently too.... bats boys, bats!!!!

Thanks to all who sent me their bday wishes and all on my bday..... be it by FB wall, FB message, text, email or phone call..... its been noted and wont be forgotten... like I said on my FB status....to those who didn't, possible trip to my infamous blacklist!!!!! ...hahah..... my bday fell on a Sat this year, day b4 the boys and I head out to Regina on our yearly visit.... so I have a lot of bday suppers and all to catch up on..... my family took me out for Chinese at my fav chinese place.... DMT BBQ me a nice thick steak with potatoes and veggies on my actual bday.. absolutely di-li-cious....... my so called "surprise" bday on the 18th dat da girls planned for me a month ago, and told me to keep that day and night free??? cancelled few days b4 the day.... apparently some of da girls couldn't make it.... mad?? no.... disappointed??... a little..... I didn't plan it or anything, so not mad.... but you make me keep that day over and stress that fact for a month, and than bail last minute????... what do you think???..... anyways, keep it coming!!!!

My trips???... Regina was nice..... made it there in about 6.5 hrs, spent three nights there, hanging with Peg and the fam..... did the usual.... first night, Peg had some pasta cooked and ready for us when we arrived.... Monday, went to Moose Jaw and caught up with Carol and Crystal who I had not seen or chatted with since I left Safeway and MJ... good to see ya after....errrrr... 17 yrs???... your both looking good.... that night, we went out to Mongolia Grill for supper..... my bowl was about $22, and damn, was da hot and sour soup spicy..... must remember not to have that next time...... that night we played the "apple" game where King won..... Tues, just jumped on the trampoline again with da kids, and supper with the gang eating the meats we brought in from Calgary..... Wed, we were off back to Calgary....

Thurs, Deb and I headed out to San Fran for three nights for our first trip outside Canada..... we got into town at about 12:12pm.... checked into the hotel and took the streetcar to Fisherman's Wharf..... we spent the next few hours walking around and shopping.... had some crabcake and clam chowder in a bowl.... headed back to da hotel.... shopped at the mall, and that was day 1..... day #2 we did the city tour and Alcatraz tour.... went to chinatown , had some dim sum and fud for supper at Four Seas Rest.. than for a late night snack, went to Mel's Diner.... Sat, we walked the trolley line, up the slopes of the city, saw criss cross road, back onto Fisherman's pier, and walked back.... from there, we hit two pubs b4 heading to Mel's Diner for sup and next door for yogurt.... Sun, back home in Calgary at about 5pm.... that was my trip in a wrap up..... some pics on FB, so enjoy!!!

Father's Day, reunion, going away, Cup, movies, back pains!!!

The end of June…… finally, summer had officially arrived….. the month of June has been pretty busy… as been the case since May, we kept up on our movie watching almost every week….. June 6th, UP… June 13th, HANGOVER…. June 29th, TRANSFORMERS, Rise of the Fallen…. All three were exceptional movies… Hangover was the big surprise…. I wasn’t going to watch it, but the hype and review kept building and building that I had to see it… result?? Prob my fav movie of the summer… the other two prob falls in the next two positions….

Yes, AC is finally gone….. her last day was the 24th… how sad, aint it??.... “Trade Team 4 Life” is finally broken….. it was a good run while it last… this was the third such work team that I been lucky enough to have been a part of, which was a close knit team…. Had her goodbye lunch on da 23rd at King and I with Tanya, but she hosted a party for her and Murray on 27th at Beckhams…. From work, it was Deb, Rob, Angela and I…. good luck AC, and best of luck…. The team wont be da same!!!

The RBC AD first annual reunion finally arrived on the 27th after 4-5 months of planning, at the Tuscany Community Hall…. It was great to see all that showed up for the three hour festivities (and to the pub afterwards, Neil, James, Carol, Debra, Shaun, and Louise)…… great to see you all again and catch up, all 24 of us….. I must admit, I thought there would be more, but you do with what you have, right???....it was nice that Debra and Carol came in from BC for the occasion… best of all, good to see ya Claymar!!!..... been too long… keep in touch… c ya all at the next reunion…

Father’s Day this year landed on da 21st….we spent it at Kathy’s place with a BBQ… not only the whole fam there, but I got a chance to meet one of Kath’s sis, and her mom from BC… it was a lot of pple, but I survived…hahah….

Dad came into town a couple of times…. The first was for Linda and Kim’s 50th wedding ani supper on da 15th…. Funny thing was, dad didn’t give us all the info… just old us that we were having supper with their fam to celebrate their wedding ani…. Imagine my surprise when my bros and I walked into the restaurant in our shorts/jeans/tshirts/hoodies to see 5 tables of pple in formal wear… not only that, but it was a 50th ani!!.. important info my dad left out….. whatever…. It was good to see everyone, including Winston who I had not see since….errrrrr….ummm….. high school???.... yes, 10 course meal at the Edgemont Palace…. hopefully my dad took could of business on the second trip here….


The back has been giving me issues all month, as many of you have seen…. It gets better by Monday, only to get tweaked and sore on Tues from softball, making me walk like an old man on Wed…. and the cycle continued….. I never experienced back pains like this b4….I tried easing it by sitting out playing D on the second game last week… but didn’t help too much….. after this week`s games, where I was force to play due to numbers, it seemed to be not too bad… trying not to get too frustrated with our play in softball…. This week, we had a 11-0 first inning lead on the Kruzers, only to get shut out the next five and having them tie us… if we didn’t decide to play extra, we would have tied…. Thank god for Viet`s walk off homer….. than the second team, the Pirates played with only 9 guys, but still manged to give us troubles. We prevailed 12-9 in the strong winds, cold, and rain….I believed I went 2-3 with a BB and 3-4…. Been more consistent and getting on base the last three weeks… hope I can keep it up… must be a better teammate and not get too frustrated with some of the guy`s play…. They all can be as good as me, right/…..hahahaah

Congrats goes out to KL on DA news…..to Jamie on DA move….to Kirk on moving to his new home…. To da Pens on coming back and winning the cup in 7, esp to da boys Sid, Staal, and Letang!! Prob should not have won, but did anyways!!!

Good to see ya again Laney for lunch….Cor and I had lunch at Sara`s with the new owners… how sad the pizza isn’t the same… need to catch up with a few of you this month… Kirk, drinks…. Kat, drinks… Mon, Nha, Ro, Mare….supper….. Harv and Mike, Sushi man!!!....Kim and Mark, the usual!!!...Peter and Cathy, Dim Sum…. Kim, lunch!!!!... Claymar, Lomes and Char, something!!
