New Year 2010.... Bday, Ani, and go Colts!!!

The new year is upon us, 2010….New year, new fun, new memories….

Happy bday on the 8th to my home boy…..King…. the fam and Sam spent it at Edgemont Palace on Wed…..on Friday, the actual day, we went to…where else….. Mother Tuckers!!! The boys had Prime Rib (which is now $23.99) and Deb had a chicken and shrimp dish….yummy…. Deb baked a Cherry Cheesecake for King….. he absolutely enjoyed it….. Sat, Deb and I watched our first movie of the year, Its Complicated…. Yes, I am Oldie Hawn…. Even though I dislike Meryl Streep, I liked the movie… good story, and Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin were funny…I will call it a “mature” movie, rather than a chick flick…after two week layoff from hockey, playing again made me real sore and stiff… man, I am getting old…not as old as my buddy Rick, whose bday was on Sunday…. Happy bday, old timer!!!...Sunday, Deb and I were invited over for supper at Kathy’s house, along with Jamow….. we had a delicious Beef Strogoloni…. Good to see ya again, Jamow!!!

Also, congrats to Kat and Jim on their baby boy, Maximus on the 10th…Happy bday to Jana on the 8th, Ro on the 3rd, and see ya later to Marsha, whose last day was this past Thurs….good luck with da rest of your pregnancy and maternity leave… keep in touch…Welcome to Ap, who finally joined FB, and was my 199th friend…hahahah… I won a Choc fondue in the WOW contest at work, which I donated to the Brenda Silent Auction in her battle against cancer…good luck girl!!!

The magical two year milestone has come and passed on da 13th. We celebrated the occasion this weekend, spending the day and night in Banff at the Tunnel Mt Resort. It was a nice place for just over $100 that Deb surprised me with. Had a kitchen with all the amendities, Jacuzzi bathtub, and a log fireplace. Yes Deb, you did start the fire on your first match….hahahha.. we had drinks and a snack at the Rose and Crown, and than supper at The Keg… I had a nice Sirloin and Deb had Prime Rib… after that, headed back to da hotel to watch the rest of the Colts win in their playoff game 20-3 over the Ravens….good day, indeed…what did I get Deb??..I got her a Mama Mia spa package at the Hyatt on Centre… yes, I am great!!!......now, for the season premiere of my fav drama….24!!! go Jack!!!

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year!!!!

It is great to end the year not having to work two full weeks. If you cant get it off, 7 days out of 10 aint bad. Add the fact that we got off at 12:30 on Xmas Eve and 2pm on New Years eve, it’s a shorten two weeks. Work was slow during this time period too.

I hooked up with the mother, Sam and the bros on the 23rd, and we tried out the new chinese rest in the Cultural Centre. Not a good experience. The mother was being her ol critical self. She even took it the extent of boycotting the meal after a few bites. The portions were small, taste was plain, environment uncomfortable. The dessert? I actually couldn’t down it. Oh well, live and learn. The bros and I did stop off at the dessert house where I tried there Mango pudding for the first time. The prices have really gone up. Almost $7/bbt. It was average.

After getting out early on the 24th, Deb and I headed to Kyla’s for the night for Xmas eve munchies….. Xmas day? Dim Sum with da bros and a full day and night at Kathy’s place with the whole fam of Deb’s. The guys won at Trivial Pursuit and Disney’s Scene It.

Boxing day, dad finally came down. He said he was coming on the 24th, missed his bus on the 25th, this and that, and he called me at 11pm to pick him up at Linda’s…. never good at communication, my dad! But, we did get a chance to eat at Eastern Fortune on the 27th for dinner with the four boys…… after that, I drove him back home…. It was an ok drive, with a few foggy patches along the highway….. the afternoon n the 28th, Deb, Connor and I checked out Sherlock Holmes….. slow at the start, but it turned out to be an entertaining movie…..

New Years Eve??? We brought in the new year by playing Wii Family Fun Resort, mainly Battleship, and watching the Hangover again on DVD…. Luv that movie….. had to wake Deb prior to midnight, rang in the new year, text everyone on my new blackberry curve that I bought prior to Xmas…..

That is how I ended my year….. Merry Christmas to everyone and a Happy New Year….. Feliz Navidad and a Prospero Ano Nuevo !!!!
